Sugar prices down on starting of arrivals from mills

Sugar prices drifted lower by Rs 60 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today on mounting stocks following increased supplies from mills.
Marketmen said the fall in sweetener prices was mostly attributed to increased stocks in the market as millers accelerated supplies.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices dropped by Rs 50 each to finish at Rs 3,930-4,030 and Rs 3,920-4,020 per quintal.
Similarly, mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices fell by Rs 50 each to Rs 3,640-3,710 and Rs 3,630-3,700 per quintal.
In the millgate section, sugar Simbholi and Asmoli fell the most by Rs 60 each to Rs 3,700 and Rs 3,670 per quintal.
Sugar Mawana Kinnoni lost Rs 50 each to Rs 3,670 and Rs 3,710, while dorala slipped by Rs 45 to Rs 3,665 and Khatuli by Rs 40 at Rs 3,710 per quintal.
