Sugar prices ease on ample supply

Sugar prices were marked down by Rs 15 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today on ample stocks following persistent supplies from mills amid scattered demand from bulk consumers.
Marketmen said, adequate stocks position following increased supplies from mills after the government yesterday decided to extend stock limits on sugar traders by another six months till October 2017 to boost its availability in the market and check sweetener prices, mainly influenced sentiment.
Sugar mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices quoted lower by Rs 15 each to end at Rs 3,530-3,630 and Rs 3,520-3,620 per quintal, respectively.
In the millgate section, sugar Modinagar, Dhampur, Thanabhavan, Budhana, Dorala, Asmoli and Kinnoni declined by Rs 15 each to Rs 3,585, Rs 3,560, Rs 3,600, Rs 3,605, Rs 3,590, Rs 3,610 and Rs 3,630 per quintal respectively.
Prices of Mawana, Dhanora, Simbholi and Khatuli also eased by Rs 10 each to Rs 3,595, Rs 3,615, Rs 3,620 and Rs 3,610 per quintal respectively.
