Sugar prices fall on ample stock

Sugar prices recorded a modest fall of up to Rs 15 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following mounting stocks on constant supplies from mills amid scattered buying by stockists and bulk consumers.
Marketmen said ample stocks position due to non-stop supplies from mills amidst slack buying by stockists and bulk consumers such as soft-drink and ice-cream makers, mainly brought down the sweetener prices mildly.
Sugar mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices enquired lower by Rs 5 each to end at Rs 3,350-3,530 and Rs 3,340-3,520 per quintal.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices were mixed at Rs 3,650- 3,760 and Rs 3,640-3,750 per quintal.
In the mill gate section, sugar Dhanora and Samili dropped the most by Rs 15 each to finish the day at Rs 3,470 and Rs 3,450 per quintal.
Sugar Dhampur also fell by Rs 10 to Rs 3,370, while, Mawana and Kinnoni eased by Rs 5 each to Rs 3,440 and Rs 3,530 per quintal.
