Sugar prices fall on ample supply, weak demand

Sugar prices eased by Rs 20 per quintal at the wholesale sugar market in the national capital today amid adequate stocks following ample supplies.
However, scattered buying activity, limited the losses.
Marketmen said mounting stocks following persistent supplies from mills put pressure on sweetener prices but scattered buying restricted the fall in prices.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices enquired lower by Rs 20 each to Rs 3,210-3,320 and Rs 3,200-3,310 per quintal.
In a similar manner, prices of mill delivery M-30 and S-30 were lower by Rs 20 each at Rs 3,040-3,165 and Rs 3,020-3,150 per quintal.
Among millgate section, sugar Asmoli dipped by Rs 20 at Rs 3,130 and Mawana, Kinnoni, Dorala and Modinagar fell by Rs 15 each to Rs 3,110, Rs 3,165, Rs 3,085 and Rs 3,075 per quintal.
Prices of Budhana, Anupshar, Morna and Nazibabad also shed Rs 10 each at Rs 3,080, Rs 3,040, Rs 3,060 and Rs 3,050 per quintal, respectively.
