Sugar prices dropped by Rs 70 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today following huge stocks due to constant supplies from mills amid festive demand from bulk consumers.
Marketmen said the fall in sweetener prices was mostly due to mounting stocks following persistent supplies by mills.
However, they said festive season demand from bulk consumers, particularly confectioners and sweet-makers, capped the losses.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 declined by Rs 70 each to end at Rs 2,920-3,030 and Rs 2,910-3,020 per quintal.
