Sugar prices fall on rising stocks, weak demand

Sugar prices fell by Rs 40 per quintal in the national capital today following heavy stocks position against weak demand from bulk consumers and retailers.
Marketmen said besides huge stocks position in the markets, sluggish demand from bulk consumers, mainly pulled down prices.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices moved down by Rs 30 each to Rs 2,710-2,920 and Rs 2,700-2,900 per quintal.
Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices dropped by Rs 20 each to Rs 2,650-2,790 and Rs 2,640-2,740 per quintal.
In millgate section, sugar Dhanora suffered the most by falling Rs 40 at Rs 2,680 per quintal, followed by Dorala and Chandpur that dipped by Rs 25 each at Rs 2,695 and Rs 2,655 per quintal.
Prices of Kinnoni, Asmoli and Dhampur declined by Rs 20 each at Rs 2,790, Rs 2,800 and Rs 2,680, while Modinagar eased by Rs 15 at Rs 2,695 per quintal.
