Sugar prices gain on sustained demand

Prices of both varieties of sugar gained at the Vashi Wholesale market here today due to sustained demand from stockists and retailers amidst good offtake from millers.
Medium sugar (M-30) climbed by Rs 10/20 per quintal to Rs 3,202/3,311 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 3,192/3,291.
Small sugar (S-30) also advanced by Rs 10/10 per quintal to Rs 3,072/3,145 as compared to Rs 3,062/3,135 yesterday.
Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,202/3,311 (Rs 3,192/3,291).
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,072/3,145 (Rs 3,062/3,135).
