Sugar prices remain steady in thin trade

The wholesale sugar prices remained steady in the national capital today in the absence of worthwhile activity.
Traders said negligible demand from bulk consumers against ample stocks mainly kept sugar prices unchanged.
Meanwhile, incentives were proposed for the beleaguered sugar industry for exports of up to 40 lakh tonnes of raw sugar for two years.
The following were today's quotations per quintal:
Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 2,930-3,190, S-30 Rs 2,920-3,180.
Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 2,790-3,040; S-30 Rs 2,780-3,030.
Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana 2890, Kinnoni 3,040, Asmoli 3,000, Dorala 2910, Budhana 2900, Thanabhavan 2895, Dhanora 2880, Simbholi 2,995, Modi Nagar Rs 2,890, Khatuli 2985, Dhampur 2,850, Ramala 2,850, Bulandshar 2,845, Anupshar 2,800, Baghpat 2,820, Morna 2,815, Sakoti 2,860, Chandpur 2,835, Amroha 2,825 and Nazibabad 2,800.
