Marketmen said besides mounting stock position in the markets due to continued supplies by mills, estimates of record output this marketing year, pulled down sugar prices.
They said, however, scattered demand from bulk consumers, limited the losses.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices were down by Rs 70 each to trade at fresh seven-year lows of Rs 2,400-2,510 and Rs 2,390-2,500 per quintal.
In the millgate section, sugar Simbholi lost Rs 25 at Rs 2,345, while Dorala and Dhampur fell by Rs 15 each at Rs 2,315 and Rs 2,285 per quintal.
