Sugar prices slip on weak demand, higher supplies

Sugar recorded a steep fall of Rs 70 per quintal in its prices at the wholesale market in the national capital today following muted demand amid higher supplies from mills.
Marketmen attributed fall in sweetener prices to muted demand form bulk consumers against persistent supplies from mills.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices declined by Rs 70 each to end at Rs 3,830-3,930 and Rs 3,820-3,920 per quintal.
Similarly, mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices dipped by a similar margin of Rs 70 each to Rs 3,540-3,620 and Rs 3,530-3,610 per quintal.
In the millgate section, sugar Kinnoni and Dhanora dropped by Rs 70 each to Rs 3,620 and Rs 3,530, while Chandpur, Simbholi, Khatuli and Dhampur lost Rs 60 each to Rs 3,540, Rs 3,620, Rs 3,600 and Rs 3,540 per quintal respectively.
