Sugar prices up on fresh buying

Sugar prices rose by Rs 40 per quintal in the wholesale sugar market at the national capital today on revival of buying against restricted supply.
Marketmen said strong demand from stockists, retailers and bulk consumers such as soft-drink and ice-cream makers against fall in arrivals mainly pushed up sweetener prices.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices asked higher at Rs 2,960-3,220 and Rs 2,950-3,210 from Rs 2,950-3,200 and Rs 2,940-3,190 per quintal.
Similarly, mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices traded higher at Rs 2,760-3,070 and Rs 2,750-3,050 instead of Rs 2,750-3,060 and Rs 2,740-3,050 per quintal.
Among millgate section, sugar Dhanora and Bulandshar climbed up by Rs 40 each to Rs 2,920 and Rs 2,915 and Rs 2,920 per quintal.
Sugar Thanabhavan jumped up by Rs 30 at Rs 2,935, while Budhana by Rs 25 at Rs 2,940 per quintal.

Prices of Dhampur and Nazibabad gained Rs 20 each to Rs 2,880 and Rs 2,790 per quintal, while Asmoli rose by Rs 15 at Rs 3,040 per quintal.

Sugar ready: M-30 Rs 2,960-3,220, S-30 Rs 2,950-3,210.
Mill delivery: M-30 Rs 2,760-3,070; S-30 Rs 2,750-3,060.
Sugar mill gate (including duty): Mawana 2935, Kinnoni 3,070, Asmoli 3,040, Dorala 2940, Budhana 2940, Thanabhavan 2935, Dhanora 2915, Simbholi 3,055, Modi Nagar Rs 2,900, Khatuli 3,050, Dhampur 2,880, Ramala 2,790, Bulandshar 2,920, Anupshar 2,760, Baghpat 2,800, Morna 2,800, Sakoti 2,860, Chandpur 2,845, Amroha N.T. And Nazibabad 2,790.
