Sugar prices up on renewed buying, low production estimate

Rising trend remain unabated in the wholesale sugar market here today on sustained buying amid restricted supply.
Marketmen said fall in supply from mills against reduced buying by stockists, retailers and bulk consumers such as soft-drink, ice-cream and sweet makers mainly pushed up the prices.
Sugar ready M-30 and S-30 prices traded higher at Rs 3,080-3,340 and Rs 3,070-3,330 from Rs 3,070-3,320 and Rs 3,060-3,310 per quintal.
Mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices also moved up further from Rs 2,940-3,160 and Rs 2,930-3,150 to end at Rs 2,950-3,170 and Rs 2,940-3,160 per quintal.
Among millgate including duty section, sugar Asmoli, Anupshar and Morna rose by Rs 10 each at Rs 3,100, Rs 2,950 and 2,910 per quintal.
Prices of Sakoti, Budhana and Thanabhavan also gained by Rs 10 each at Rs 2,990, Rs 3,075 and Rs 3,070 per quintal respectively.
