Sugar prices up on summer season demand, tight supply

Sugar prices improved by Rs 20 per quintal at the wholesale market in the national capital today, supported by pick up in buying by stockists and bulk consumers driven by ongoing summer season amid tight supplies from mills.
Marketmen said besides pause in supplies from mills, a boost in demand from stockists and bulk consumers for the ongoing summer season, mainly supported the upmove in sweetener prices.
Sugar mill delivery M-30 and S-30 prices enquired higher by Rs 20 each to Rs 3,610-3,780 and Rs 3,600-3,770 per quintal.
In the millgate section, sugar Mawana, Kinnoni, Dhanora, Simbholi, Khatuli, Dhampur and Ramala rose by Rs 20 each to Rs 3,700, Rs 3,780, Rs 3,730, Rs 3,740, Rs 3,750, Rs 3,670 and Rs 3,620 per quintal, respectively.
