Recommendations of an advisory committee looking into the vexed medium of instruction (MOI) issue would be accepted by the Goa Government, Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar today said.
"Whoever has got any suggestion on MOI or any education-related issue, they should put it up to the Advisory Committee. The committee comprises renowned educationists and we will accept all their recommendations," he told reporters on the sidelines of a function organised to celebrate the Independence Day.
The issue of medium of instruction in Goa's primary schools is being debated for long and has led to an open war of words between RSS and ruling BJP in the past.
Bharatiya Bhasha Suraksha Manch (BBSM) has demanded the state's mother tongue Konkani be the MoI, a stand backed by RSS. The outfit has also sought withdrawal of grants given to English medium schools by the Government.
The BJP-led Government, facing criticism for allowing grants to English medium schools, has formed the committee led by educationist Bhaskar Nayak to study the issue.
RSS-backed BBSM, which is supporting mother tongue as MOI, has censured the Government for forming the committee, claiming it was a delaying tactic.

"The committee will not only decide on MOI but also give suggestions on other aspects (related to education). We have selected experienced people as committee members who have nopolitical ambition," Parsekar added.
