The 27-year-old woman, who police identified as Salma, apparently hanged herself in her rented home in a suburb of Bangladesh's capital, Dhaka, on Friday.
Police have recovered her body, and investigator Kamal Hossain said today that he was waiting for the autopsy report. Salma was one of about 2,500 workers who survived the collapse of an eight-story building that housed several garment factories.
Authorities say 1,129 people died in the world's worst garment industry disaster, highlighting an industry with poor safety standards and often dangerous working condition.
