"There is a wave across the country in favour of forming a BJP government in the leadership of Narendra Modi at the Centre and therefore, I am confident of my eighth victory from here," Sumitra, who is popularly known as "Tai" told reporters after filing her nomination papers from here.
Sumitra won the last Lok Sabha poll against Congress' Satya Narayan Patel with a narrow margin of 11,480 votes.
On her narrow victory margin in the last LS polls, Sumitra said, "Ups and downs are part of a life but this time I am confident of retaining this seat with a huge margin."
BJP sources said that because of internal party rivalry, last time her poll margin was reduced to just 11,480 votes while earlier it was always in lakhs.
Sumitra is representing Indore since 1989.
