Isolated rainfall occurred over South Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Mainly dry weather will prevail over North Tamil Nadu and Lakshadweep. Dry weather prevailed over Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimetres are: TAMIL NADU: papanasam (Tirunelveli Dist) 5, Tiruchendur (Toothukudi Dist), Manimutharu (Tirunelvei Dist) 1 each.
The minimum temperature rose at one or two places over interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep area, fell at one or two places over Tamil Nadu, Coastal Karnataka and rest North Interior Karnataka and little changed elsewhere the region.
They were appreciably above normal at many places over Telangana, Coastal Andhra predesh and lakshadweep area, at one or two places over Tamil Nadu and South Interior karnataka, above normal at one or two places over rest Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka, below normal at one or two places over rest North Interior Karnataka and remained normal over the region.
Belgaum airport recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 12 degree Celsius in the plains of the region.
WEATHER FORECAST VALID UNTIL THE MORNING OF 12TH JANUARY 2014: Isolated rain or thundershowers may occur over South Tamil Nadu, South Kerala and Lakshadweep. Mainly dry weather will prevail over North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, North Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
