On BSE, the stock settled 1.25 per cent down at Rs 613.85. It opened at Rs 621 and touched a low of Rs 611.95 in intra-day trade.
Following a decline in the counter, the market capitalisation of the company decreased by Rs 2,328.3 crore to Rs 1,47,275.53 crore.
The scrip ended the day on NSE at Rs 615.10, down 1.01 per cent from previous close. It touched an intra-day low of Rs 611.85, after opening at Rs 621.50.
"On December 28, a fire broke out at the company's Ahmednagar factory during excavation work, causing burn injuries to four workmen at the excavation site," Sun Pharma said in a BSE filing today.
"Two of the injured workmen succumbed to burn injuries and other two are being treated at the hospital," it added.
"There is no loss of production at Ahmednagar factory on account of this incident," the company said.
