Sunil Hitech to set up 5-MW solar plant in Maharashtra

Sunil Hitech Engineers (SHEL) today said it has bagged a contract from Solar Energy Corporation of India for setting up a 5 MW solar plant in Maharashtra.
Solar Energy Corporation (SECI), which is developing a 375 MW project in the state under the phase II of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission, has sub-contracted the construction work for 5 MW to SHEL, said a release.
SHEL will set up the project, generate power and supply to SECI at Rs 5.45 per unit, which is fixed for the entire term of 25 years with effect from the scheduled date of commissioning, it said.
The company is in final stages of financial closure for the project, which is expected to be completed by April next year, the release said.
The cost of the 5 MW project is estimated at Rs 42.5 crore which has received a variable grant funding of Rs 6.75 crore from the government.
The company is expecting to bag contract for another 15 MW, the release said.
