DSK Hyosung is aiming to grow sales by 40 per cent to 2,800 units in 2014-15 as it looks to expand its product portfolio in the country with the launch of three new bikes this year.
The company today launched a 250cc bike 'Aquila 250', priced at Rs 2.69 lakh (ex-showroom) and showcased three more bikes -- RT 125D, GD 250N and Comet 250 -- to be launched in the country later this year.
"Despite the economic gloom and fall in domestic demand, the superbike market in India is pegged to touch 10,000 units in 2014-15 fiscal from about 8,000 units currently. We are also bullish on our growth in the Indian market and expect to close FY'14 with 2,000 units," DSK Hyosung Chairman Shirish Kulkarni told PTI.
Next year, the company aims to sell a minimum of 2,800 units and anything over that will be good business, he added.
DSK Hyosung will launch the three showcased bikes in September, around Diwali and in December, he said. Kulkarni, however, did not specify the details of the launch.
"Our introductions mirror the brand's commitment to the Indian market. We are aggressively increasing our presence here and we will add two new dealers next week in Delhi and Lucknow," he said.

Established in 2012, DSK Hyosung is a partnership between India's DSK Group and Korea's Hyosung.
Kulkarni said the company is also looking at introducing a 125cc bike in the Indian market.
"We are still working on that (125cc bike) and it will, most probably, be under the DSK Hyosung brand name. We are looking at 2016 for the launch," he said.
