A rib-tickling combination of food and theatre is what a "supper theatre" from New Zealand promises on its Indian debut.
After sellout shows in the UK, Netherlands, Adelaide, Canada, Dubai, Edinburgh, Melbourne, Sydney and other cities across the globe, "Faulty Towers - the Dining Experience" has now arrived here in India on a three-city tour - Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai.
Taken from popular 1970s BBC sitcom "Fawlty Towers", the 'supper theatre' cast includes Robert Langston playing the snobbish, maniacal Basil Faulty; Karen Hamilton as his domineering wife Sybil Faulty and their dismally language-challenged waiter Manuel played by Anthony Sottile.
'Faulty Towers' which is in its 17th year of production includes the full works. Right from seating the guests, to taking their orders and serving them a three-course meal, the cast of this outstanding show manages to keep the audience laughing for the two-hour duration of the show.
The hosts will even chide you if you don't use your cutlery right and would continue till they are actually out of their costume!
Actress Karen Hamilton shares that the screenplay of the TV show has a universal appeal to it, which makes it easier for people to connect with.

"The writing of the story is universal, you will at most hotels find that guy like Basil Fawtly who thinks he is all right but can't do anything right.
"Sybil is like the ladies at leisure or the ladies at lunch reference. There is always a Manuel in every hotel we go to. None of them are dated," she says.
Anthony, a first generation Australian from Italy plays the role of a jumpy waiter who can't seem to get the English vocabulary round his tongue to the hilt.
