According to Satara police, the incident occurred after Udayan Raje Bhosale reached Shivendrasinh Bhosale's house in the city along with his supporters late last night, triggering a clash.
Two rounds were fired by an unidentified person during the violence. Stones were hurled and several vehicles were also damaged, the police said.
"Both the groups have filed cross-complaints against each other under section 307 (attempt to murder), rioting and relevant sections of the IPC. We have registered a common case against the mob under section 333 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt to deter public servant from his duty) after one of our police officers was injured in the clash," a senior police officer said.
However, the private company which owns it recently decided to hand over its control to another person, belonging to Shivendra Raje Bhosale's camp.

The Bhosale cousins have been at loggerheads since the past few months after they fielded their independent panels during the municipal council elections, which were ultimately won by Udayanraje, a direct descendant of Chhatrapati Shivaji.
"On Thursday night, Udayan Raje reached the toll plaza, where the company was slated to complete the formalities of handing its operation to the other party. A heavy police bandobast was deployed at the plaza in order to avoid any law and order situation," said the officer.
"The situation is under control now and police bandobast is stepped up in the city," said the officer.
