The Ministry has identified eight cities and the UT of Chandigarh for 'Best' and 'Commendable' initiatives toward promotion of public transport, Non-Motorised Transport and Road Safety, an official release said.
Minister of State for Urban Development Rao Inderjit Singh will present these Awards for 'Best' and 'Commendable Initiatives' for urban transport projects on the last day of the ongoing Urban Mobility Conference in Gandhinagar tomorrow.
In the 'City Bus Service' category, Dharwad-Hubli service in Karnataka came out the 'Best' while Rajkot as 'Commendable Initiative'.
Chandigarh has bagged the 'Commendable Initiative' award for Road Safety, while Gandhinagar in Gujarat and Karnal in Haryana gets for Cycle sharing.
