A Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) team also visited the Surat airport in Gujarat, to take stock of the situation, they said.
"Surat Airport authorities began mending the wall and some portions of the fence through which stray animals can enter the airport, to prevent any future eventuality," an airport official said.
"These steps are being taken after yesterday's incident where a buffalo entered the airport and hit a SpiceJet aircraft just a few seconds before its take-off," the airport official said.
After the incident, SpiceJet authorities had announced suspension of its services from Surat airport for an indefinite period.
A case regarding the 'buffalo-hit' incident has been registered at Dumas police station in Surat, the official said.
