Surat man held for raping sister-in-law in Goa

A 32-year-old man has been arrested from Surat for allegedly raping his sister-in-law during a family vacation in Goa recently, police said today.
The man, whose identity has not been disclosed, was arrested last night after the woman (42) filed a complaint.
"The family was on a vacation to Goa recently and had hired a villa in Anjuna where the incident reportedly happened. The woman has complained that her brother-in-law entered her bedroom from window and raped her. She has also claimed that he assaulted her before leaving the room," police inspector Paresh Naik told PTI today.
As per the complaint, the woman was alone in the bedroom at the time of the crime as entire family had gone out.

"She was sent for medical examination at Goa Medical College and Hospital where rape has been confirmed," Naik said, adding that the accused has been booked under section 376 (punishment for rape) of IPC and is remanded in police custody for seven days by a magisterial court in Mapusa.
