"As I grew up soaking those heady days of 70s in terms of music when Goutamda and his band was in absolute command of the psyche of the youngsters like us, the imprint lay in my mind," Surojit told reporters while recording the solo numbers at a city studio here this evening.

"And hence with the first solo album coming up, what can be better than making the album as a tribute to the man who blazed the trail of Bengali band music in that age," he said.

"I have incorporated different genres of music in the album which includes my first ever recorded song years back having some unpolished elements at that time which I am revisiting now," he said.

Surojit, who would term his working experience in Muktodhara as a high point of his musical career where he had lent voice to 10 songs, however asserted his recoding the solo album did not infer that he had any plans for leaving the premier band 'Bhoomi', which he had set up along with another lead vocalist Soumitra years back.

Subhojit Roy, CEO of Orion Entertainment, who had came forward for bringing out the album, said "the eight-song album provides a unique combination of rock and peppy numbers adding the flavours of romantic melodies."
