"I support (separate) Telangana," Usendi told reporters.
Until recently, he was the official spokesperson of the Dandakaranya Special Zonal Committee (DKSZC) of the outlawed Communist Party of India (Maoist), who carried a Rs 20 lakh reward on his head.
He had surrendered before the Andhra Pradesh police along with his wife Santoshi Markam alias Jaini, two days ago, and was produced before reporters today.
Asked if he had any plans to join any political party and contest the forthcoming elections, Usendi did not rule out the same saying, "I will decide about it later. I will work for the welfare of the people (in future)".
"I informed the Maoist party leadership about the issue. The party will never give its permission. I had some (ideological) differences with the party. I will talk about it in detail later," he said.
