Survey & inspection of elevators in Kamrup (Metropolitan) dist

The Kamrup (Metropolitan) district administration today announced that a survey and inspection of elevators in the district would be conducted soon.
Kamrup(Metro) Deputy Commissioner M Angamuthu issued an order directing all Circle Officers to conduct the survey and inspection of the lifts/elevators with Land Records staff along and assistance of competent authority of Guwahati Municipal Corporation and Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority, an official release said.
The decision to this effect was taken following the recent death of a senior citizen in an elevator mishap at an apartment in Guwahati City.
The officials have been asked to prepare circle wise database of the figure of lifts/elevators and its functioning and to ensure inspection.

The Deputy Commissioner also directed that the action taken report be submitted within thirty days.
