Survey of losses should have humanitarian ground: Gehlot
Press Trust of India Bikaner Former chief minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot today said the survey of losses for the farmers whose crops were destroyed in the unseasonal rains in the state "should have humanitarian ground and not technical".
Gehlot visited the villages in the district and said the government should provide maximum support to the farmers by giving them compensation for the actual loss.
He said his former government had announced a special package for the victims of Uttarkhand tragedy and the present government should also go beyond the set norms to help the farmers.
"The survey of losses should have humanitarian ground, not technical," he said.
"The rainfall had damaged crops and there were a loss to human lives and livestock as well due to rain-related incidents. The government should give its full support to the affected people," he said.
