Sushil flays Nitish for delay in granting sanction to projects

Senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi today hit out at the state government for not granting timely sanction to over 300 industrial projects worth Rs 3,000 crore approved by the State Industrial Promotion Board.
The timely sanction would have allowed investors to take benefit of various subsidies and blamed the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for negligence in this regard.
"The SIPB had approved over 300 new industrial projects worth Rs. 3000 crore under the earlier industrial promotion policy of 2011 under which the investors would have availed of benefits like capital subsidies among various incentives, but these projects were not given a final nod by the state government before implementation of the new industrial policy which had done away with all those incentives," he said in a statement.

The investors were made to believe that they were entitled to avail incentives under the old industrial policy approved in 2011 and so they started setting up units, but the final approval for their projects got delayed due to the negligence on the part of the Chief Minister as a result these investors have been deprived of various incentives for new industrial projects, Modi said.
Modi, who was the deputy chief minister for eight years during the NDA rule in Bihar, demanded separate industrial promotion policy for specific sectors like IT, food processing, pharmaceuticals, readymade garments, hospital and tourism saying that otherwise industrial development in Bihar will remain a far cry.

The senior BJP leader urged the state government to incorporate various incentives under the earlier industrial promotion policy framed in 2011 in the new policy and separate promotion schemes for individual sectors in order to promote overall industrialization in Bihar.
