Sushil Modi briefed about functioning of Hyderabad City Police (Eds: Additional details including quote of Bihar Deputy CM)

Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Sushil Kumar Modi was today briefed about the functioning of Hyderabad City Police including implementation of several technological initiatives and measures taken for a people friendly policing.
Modi visited Hyderabad city today and studied the functioning of Hyderabad City Police and he was briefed on changes brought in police department after Telangana government came to power, usage of technology and measures taken on transformation into people friendly police.
Modi also visited a Punjagutta police station here and Hyderabad Police Commissioner M Mahendar Reddy and other senior police officials briefed him on the usage of technology and IT enabled technologies by Hyderabad Police, as a force multiplier, in crime prevention, detection, public order management, traffic management, women and child safety, surveillance over criminals, work force management and so on.
After going through the model police station, Modi, told reporters "a friendly atmosphere is seen at the police stations. The police stations in Hyderabad are well organised.
"They seem like hotel or a corporate office...We need such police stations (in Bihar). After seeing the good things we will try to implement them."
Modi was also briefed on other ongoing developmental works and he praised the Telangana government's welfare scheme for pregnant woman and newborns -- KCR Kit.

Modi said he is visiting Andhra Pradesh tomorrow and will study the best practices there.
"There is considerable reduction in serious crimes affecting public safety and security. The Hyderabad City Police has been working in partnership with the members of the public in popularising technologies and in enhancing the standards of safety and security in Hyderabad City," a senior police official said.
"The Bihar Deputy CM studied the functioning of Hyderabad City Police and its IT initiatives, which will enable them to implement in their state," he said.
