Sushil Modi highlights Centre's contribution in Prakash Parva

The BJP today highlighted Centre's contribution for successful organisation of 350th Prakash Parva here.
Crediting the Centre, Bihar government, Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, various social organisations and people of the state for successful organisation of Prakash Parva, senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi specially mentioned the contribution of Union Tourism and Railway Ministries in making the event memorable.
Reeling out details of financial assistance, Sushil, in a statement highlighted that the Union Tourism Ministry had allocated Rs 41.53 crore for the Prakash Parva.
Out of this, Rs 4.41 crore was given for development of Guru Ka Bagh, Rs 12.34 crore for Kangana Ghat and Rs 21 crore for lighting, road construction and other infrastructure works for the mega event, he said.
The Railways spent over Rs 40 crore to enhance the facilities for Sikh devotees arriving for the Prakash Parva to celebrate the birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th Sikh Guru, Sushil Modi said.
In addition, the Inland Waterways Authority of India ran three ships from Kangana Ghat to Gandhi Ghat facilitating travel of over 10,000 devotees daily during the event, Sushil Modi, the Leader of Opposition in the state Legislative Council, said.
Under JNNURM, the Centre made available more than 100 buses for the devotees, he added.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while praising Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his personal efforts in the successful hosting of Prakash Parva, had highlighted the Centre's role in organising the event in different countries at a cost of Rs 100 crore and also the Railways and the Union Culture Ministry for spending Rs 40 crore for the congregation in Bihar.
