A habeas corpus petition was filed in the Madras High Court today by wife of Panna Ismail, a suspect in the 2011 Advani bomb and many other cases, who suffered bullet injuries in a joint operation conducted by Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh Police on October 5 at Puttur.
Ismail is undergoing treatment in Government Rajiv Gandhi General Hospital here where a three-tier protection has been provided for him.
Ismail's wife Shameem Banu prayed her husband be produced before the High Court.
The petitioner said she came to know through the media that her husband was arrested by police in Andhra Pradesh and undergoing treatment in a hospital here.
She alleged that when she visited the hospital to meet her husband on October six and seven, she was prevented by police and the hospital authorities from meeting him.
The petitioner said she wanted to know whether her husband was given proper treatment by the hospital authorities and the bullet was removed from his body.
