Suspected gunrunner arrested

Delhi Police arrested a suspected gunrunner and seized 15 illegal weapons from him.
The accused, identified as Babloo Sharma (34), a native of Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh, was arrested from Wazirabad flyover on Delhi's Outer Ring Road on November 11, police said in a statement.
Police received a tip-off that the accused was coming to deliver these firearms to one of his contacts.
A trap was laid and the accused was arrested, the statement said.
For the last one-and-a-half years, the Special Cell of Delhi Police has launched a special drive against the supply of illegal firearms to Delhi from other parts of the country.

The surveillance has revealed that illegal weapons are being mainly smuggled into Delhi from places such as Munger (Bihar), and Khargaon and Burhanpur (Madhya Pradesh).
