A suspected Indian Mujahideen linkman was arrested with explosives and fake currency notes by the Special Task Force of Kolkata Police.
STF sources said today that Anwar Hussain Mullick (42), a resident of West Bengal's Nadia district, was arrested last night from the bus stand in the BBD Bag area of the city.
According to sources, Mullick is suspected to be involved in supplying explosives to banned Islamist groups, including Indian Mujahideen.
Some "ultra modern" explosives and fake currency notes worth Rs 1,90,000 were found in his possession, sources added.
Mullick was today produced in court and remanded till July 20 in police custody.
However, when contacted, STF chief Rajeev Mishra said that no link has been established between Mullick and Indian Mujahideen or the Pune blasts of 2012 which the terror outfit is suspected to have carried out.
