Suspected swine flu case in Kota

A 34-year-old man was admitted to a hospital here with suspected swine flu symptoms, prompting the health officials to initiate a drive in the district to check the spread of the disease.
Rajesh Saxena, resident of Dadabari area, was admitted at a private hospital here and is suspected to be infected with H1N1 virus, Chief Medical & Health Officer R N Yadav said.
The samples of the patient have been sent to Maharao Bheem Singh (MBS) hospital here to ascertain if it was a case of swine flu, he added.
For precautionary measures, medical teams were sent to the residential area of the patient and a drive was carried out to check if the disease had got spread.

"Tamiflu tablets were distributed among the family members of the suspected patient," Yadav said.
Block medical officers have also been asked to carry out door-to-door survey in their respective areas to check if anyone has the symptoms of the disease, the CMHO added.
14 persons have succumbed to swine flu in Rajasthan since April 1 this year.
