Suspected thief beaten to death in UP

A 28-year-old suspected thief was allegedly beaten to death by people at an Aligarh district village today, police said.
The incident happened at Laxmanpur under Khair police station limits when Chob Singh went to tube well to commit theft, police said.
They said the villagers sleeping there caught Singh and severely beat him up with lathis.
He was admitted to a local hospital in a serious condition where he later died, police said, adding the body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
A case has been registered in the connection.
