Chief Judicial Magistrate Som Prabha Mishra got the complaint registered and called for a report from Hazratganj police station and fixed the next date of hearing on August 4.
According to Thakur's activist-wife Nutan Thakur, he moved an application through his counsel Akhilesh Awasthi under section 156(3) CrPC.
Thakur had presented the complaint to Inspector of Hazratganj Vijay Pal Singh Yadav on July 11 and to SSP,Lucknow, Rajesh Pandey on July 23 when the Hazratganj police refused to register the FIR.
Terming the inquiry illegal, Thakur presented the application before the CJM for registration of an FIR.

In the complaint, Thakur said the SP chief had telephoned him on July 10 and criminally intimidated him.
Thakur, who is locked in a tussle with the state government, was served a 200-page charge sheet and a vigilance inquiry initiated against him.
