Telangana anti-corruption bureau, which is probing irregularities in land registrations in the state, today unearthed assets worth Rs 10 crore allegedly belonging to a suspended sub-registrar.
ACB also registered a case of possessing assets disproportionate to known sources of income against T Ramesh Chander Reddy, who was posted as a sub-registrar at L B Nagar and who has been arrested for violation of Registration Act.
ACB today conducted simultaneous searches at 12 places -- Reddy's and his relatives' houses and benami properties in Hyderabad and elsewhere.
It found that he possesses two flats, a plot of land, some 10 acres of agricultural land, deposits Rs 1.37 crore in various banks, four kg of gold jewellery, a car, etc.
His driver, who is absconding, is accused of holding five acres of land as a proxy for Reddy, an ACB officer said.
Reddy was arrested on May 31 by Rachakonda police on the charge of registering several properties in violation of Registration Act, 1908 and causing a loss of crores of rupees to the government.
ACB, in the last three days, has also unearthed assets worth Rs 22 crore allegedly belonging to two other suspended sub-registrars, accused of similar offences.
