"Owing to my failure as a politician and an MLA I have decided to quit politics from today. I could not do whatever the people wanted me to do in the constituency. I got love from the people but they did not find any change during my tenure," Ghosh said here.
However, he said he is not resigning as an MLA now.
"If I resign now the people of my constituency will have problems in getting things done as they will have to run to other places. I will not be available for any party related activities any more but will continue to work as an MLA for development of my area till early next year," he said.
When asked whether his suspension has anything to do with quitting politics, he replied in the negative.
"I could have joined any other political party if I wanted to. But I have no faith left in any political party now," Ghosh said adding that he did not enjoy politics any more.
"I had psychiatric problems and have other health issues like diabetes and blood pressure. Now things will be all right," he added.
