The State Vigilance Commission (SVC) today directed its investigating wing State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) to ensure time-bound probe and take legal action in the case of illegal sale of state land in Gharota belt of Jammu district.
SVC, while examining the preliminary probe report furnished by SVO pertaining to illegal sale of land, directed SVO to complete investigation in a time-bound manner so that departmental and legal actions are initiated against the revenue officials and the beneficiaries of the scam, an SVC officer said.
The investigation report prima facie established involvement of Patwaries, Girdawars and Naib tehsildars in the scam, the officer said.
