The Commission has sought the report from Commissioner Secretary to Department of Health and Medical Education, a spokesman of the Commission said.
The commission proceeded on a complaint lodged by Somnath Dabgotra (Chairman Dabgotra Chairtable Trust) against Principal Medical College Jammu, in connection with alleged unjustified favours and gains made in favour of one private diagnostic centre for supply, installation, operation, maintenance and running of various diagnostic facilities at GMC on a public private partnership basis.
In the report submitted by Vigilance Organisation before the Commission, prima facie it emerged that the prescribed fee charged from patients by the centre, instead of going to the hospital fund, is directly taken by the private firm, the spokesman said.
Besides, the premises of the hospital and electricity being provided to the private firm is given free of charge, and the 'profit generated' is not being shared with the government hospital unlike the practice of sharing profits under the PPP mode in vogue in other states, he said.
