SVNIRTAR to have more facilities soon, says Union minister

Swami Vivekanand National Institute of Rehabilitation Training and Research in Odisha will soon have MRI and CT Scan facilities, Union Minister Thawar Chand Gehlot announced today.
Along with these new facilities, dedicated supporting staff would also be provided, the Social Justice and Empowerment Minister said during a visit to the prestigious institute functioning at Olatpur in Cuttack district.
The Union Minister, who inaugurated a number of new facilities at SVNIRTAR, said the institute would also be provided with a state-of-the-art ambulance equipped with ICU (Intensive Care Unit) facilities.
Besides interacting with officials of the Institute, Gehlot also inaugurated a laboratory for PG students of prosthetics and orthotics department in the presence of MP Kulamani Samal, local MLA P K Mallick and Director of SVNIRTAR Dr S P Das. The Minister inspected different instruments and equipment at the institute.
The Minister along with the dignitaries distributed laptops to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students of the Institute. Motorised sewing machines, tricycles and mobile repair kits were distributed to dibyangs (physically challenged people).
Different varieties of aids, appliances and self-employment kits were distributed among the differently abled women too.
