Along with these new facilities, dedicated supporting staff would also be provided, the Social Justice and Empowerment Minister said during a visit to the prestigious institute functioning at Olatpur in Cuttack district.
The Union Minister, who inaugurated a number of new facilities at SVNIRTAR, said the institute would also be provided with a state-of-the-art ambulance equipped with ICU (Intensive Care Unit) facilities.
Besides interacting with officials of the Institute, Gehlot also inaugurated a laboratory for PG students of prosthetics and orthotics department in the presence of MP Kulamani Samal, local MLA P K Mallick and Director of SVNIRTAR Dr S P Das. The Minister inspected different instruments and equipment at the institute.
Different varieties of aids, appliances and self-employment kits were distributed among the differently abled women too.
