The State Vigilance Commission exposed fraud and conspiracy committed by the BMO Uri in connivance with his subordinate staff which caused a huge loss to the state Exchequer, an SVC spokesperson said here today.
Azad Ahmad complained to the SVC that the BMO and his assistant demanded and accepted gratification to release pending salaries and arrears of contractual doctors and paramedics, including his wife Dr Sameena Qayoom, he said.
Accordingly, the SVO registered an FIR against the BMO and his assistant under relevant sections of the J&K Prevention of Corruption Act and the RPC, the Spokesperson said.
An investigation is underway against the accused public servants.
