"With my associate lawyer AP Jagga on attempted abduction of an IAS officer's daughter by two drunk goons, I will file a PIL in Chandigarh," he tweeted.
Asked what prompted him to file a Public Interest Litigation, the Rajya Sabha member told PTI it appeared the Chandigarh Police was in no position to conduct "a fair and free" probe.
"Hence This matter should be court-monitored and the CBI should be asked to take it over. You can have an SIT if you want, other agencies also. This is my prayer," he said.
The woman had on Fridayb night called the police up, complaining that two men had chased her along a stretch of over five kilometres in Chandigarh.
