"A child who was admitted to the BC Roy Memorial Hospital for Children on February 12 died yesterday. His condition was quite critical and was put under ventilation since then. We have eight deaths due to swine flu in the state since January this year," Principal Secretary (Health and Family Welfare) Moloy Dey told PTI.
Three new patients from the city tested positive for swine flu and were admitted to a government hospital, he said, adding that the total number of people infected has reached 115.
Earlier, 55 patients were released after their recovery.
