Christened as 'Swosti Chilika Resort,' the facility was being developed on nine acres of land acquired by the hospitality and travel major at Pathura village between Barkul and Rambha along the Chilika Lake.
Construction work for the eco-friendly resort has already started and the resort was expected to be operational by the end of 2016, said Swosti Group managing director, J K Mohanty.
Stating that the company has also acquired land for hotel and resort projects at Puri, Satapada and Bhitarkanika on Odisha's coastline, Mohanty said the Chilika resort would have over 70 rooms including independent villas in the hotel complex.
Hoping that the new facility would attract large number of domestic as well as foreign tourists, he said the major attractions of the resort were house boats, spa, yoga centre, water sports and boating facilities.
