The facility is coming up the Madikonda Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC), the company said in a statement.
Cyient Founder and Executive Chairman BVR Mohan Reddy said that by establishing the Centre in Warangal, the company recognises the role that tier-2 cities are playing in country's growth.
"There is a strong need to promote balanced economic growth in rural India by creating employment opportunities in tier-2 locations. The centre in Warangal will help accelerate socio-economic development of the region.
The upcoming centre will focus on advanced geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing, and photogrammetry technologies, catering to a host of solutions for the transportation (navigation), utilities, and communications sectors, the statement added.

The facility will support Cyient's worldwide digital technology initiatives, including those in IoT, big data analytics, and smart cities, and cater to the company's global clients.
Set in a sprawling five-acre campus, the planned facility will cover an area of 70,000 sq ft, supported by high-speed data networks for real-time online transactions.
Employing approximately 1000 professionals over the next 18-24 months, Cyient expects the initiative to contribute to the development of the region and bring technology industry to tier-2 cities like Warangal, the statement added.
