Forest Minister Jogu Ramanna and another Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao will launch the programme in Khammam district of Telangana and the saplings will be planted in forests and reserve forest areas in districts across the state for which all arrangements have been made, an official release said.
A state-level officer has been appointed as in-charge for each district in this regard.
In Adilabad district- 24 lakh sapling will be planted followed by Khammam- 12.5 lakh, Warangal- 12 lakh, Nizamabad- 11 lakh, Karimnagar- 11 lakh, Medak- 10 lakh, Mahabubnagar- 5.9 lakh, Nalgonda- 8 lakh and Ranga Reddy district- 5.6 lakh.
Flowering yielding and shade providing trees are proposed to be planted as part of the programme.
