The Telangana government's proposed Industrial Health Clinic (IHC) programme aimed at reviving the sick industrial units in the MSME sector will come up for discussion in the upcoming Budget session.
If approved by the House it will be rolled out from next fiscal, IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan said today.
To support sick enterprises in the state in Micro Small Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector, the Telangana government had planned to set up IHCs as a Non Banking Financial Institution (NBFC) with a CEO in place.
It had sought Central government's help to contribute Rs 50 crore as one time grant for Rs 100 crore corpus fund proposed for the initiative.
"As a pioneering initiative we are setting up Industrial Health Clinics. In the forthcoming Assembly Session IHC is an important proposal which will be debated and hopefully if it is approved we will be able to roll it out from the next financial year," Ranjan said at an event here.
"These (proposed) IHCs will look at financing sick industries, particularly in the micro, small and medium enterprises which show signs of incipient.
"We have decided apart from giving them (sick units) timely intervention in the form of working capital, we will facilitate through policy intervention," Ranjan said.
"We will also use IHC to give certain tools and techniques to prevent them from falling sick," the official said.
